Course Description:
 This course is an advanced-level class in the Production and Managerial Arts career pathway in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment industry sector. It provides a comprehensive study of the roles, responsibilities, structures, and policies involved in the management of an arts organization. Students explore major arts organizations and analyze their practices and functions. Students also study the evolution of arts management beginning with ancient Greek festivals and continuing through modern times. Topics of study include functions of management, business planning and infrastructure, economics, budget and pricing theory, development and evaluation, marketing strategies, decision making, employment practices, labor relations and recruitment, public relations, and administrative policies.
