Manufacturing and Product Development Industry Sector

Career Pathways offered by San Diego Unified:

The Manufacturing and Product Development sector provides a foundation in manufacturing processes and systems, including machine tools, graphic design production, and product innovation and design. Students engage in an instructional program that integrates academic and technical preparation in three career pathways, including curriculum and assessments leading to certification by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). The pathways emphasize real-world experiences in manufacturing and graphic production and design. Standards included in the Manufacturing and Product Development sector are designed to prepare students for technical training and certification, postsecondary education, and entry into a career.
