Course Description:
 Advanced Family Sociology completes the career path sequence of Family and Human Services courses for the Education, Child Development, and Family Services industry sector. It is designed for students who want to build on content covered in the intermediate-level prerequisite course in preparation for post-secondary study and/or careers related to the field of sociology. Students in this course will examine social structures, processes, and behaviors, using different theoretical approaches, and explore issues of stratification and inequality as they apply to family structure and kinship. Sociological research, including methods of inquiry, qualitative and quantitative research, and content analysis, is an important component of the course.
