Technical Theatre 5,6 Honors (HP) (1375, 1376)    - PILOT COURSE -


Pilot Site:
 Pilot course for Mira Mesa High School. Other schools may not offer this course without prior approval from the Interdivisional Curriculum Committee.

 Technical Theatre 1,2 (required) and Technical Theatre 3,4 (required)

Course Description:
 This course will further develop the concepts and techniques introduced in Technical Theatre 1,2 and Technical Theatre 3,4 with an emphasis on producing theatre. Such positions include: Producer, Stage Manager, Technical Director and Master Carpenter. Due to the nature of the production process, and as outlined in the California Department of Education State Standards, this class may often require students to participate in extra rehearsals and performances beyond the school day. Finally, throughout the year, students will be exposed to Technical Theatre achievements via live presentations and recorded works. After the viewing of these productions, students will achieve an understanding of how to be a drama critic as they analyze the design choices made in the show they experienced.
