Course Description:
 In Mariachi 6th-8th, students will sing and play traditional Mexican music. They will develop fundamental vocal and instrumental techniques, music reading skills, and stage performance skills (e.g., memorization) necessary to read and interpret Mariachi music in a culturally authentic manner. Students will develop creativity, musicianship, and an appreciation for the music, history, and culture of Mexico, through a variety of playing, singing, listening, discussing, analyzing, composing, and improvising activities and assignments. Instrumentation for this ensemble includes, but is not limited to, trumpet, violin, vihuela, guitar, guitarrón, and voice.
