| | This course provides an introduction to economics
together with a survey of important topics in personal
finance and will be taught using ASL. Topics from
economics include basic economics, price systems,
macroeconomic indicators, the US financial system,
government intervention, and global trade. In personal
finance, students learn about careers and higher
education, employment, banking, setting financial goals,
budgeting and saving, investment, consumer credit,
loans and debt, taxes, insurance, car buying, housing,
and scams and fraud. Throughout the course, illustrative
examples of the principles of economics are drawn from
world history, US history, and current events,
incorporating cases involving the topics covered in
personal finance. |
