Course Description:
 This course prepares young adult students with disabilities for employment. Students work toward the learning objectives in a community-based instruction setting based on their individual learning needs. The course covers basics of getting a job, understanding wages, timekeeping, employee rights, safety on the job, communicating effectively with co-workers and supervisors, using basic workplace tools, and understanding how organizational systems function and operate effectively within them. Students participate in appropriately leveled work-based learning experiences that lead to competitive integrated employment (CIE). This course also provides protected time for small group designated English Language Development (dELD) instruction for English learners at all proficiency levels.
