Course Description: |
| The AVID Seminar is a rigorous hybrid course developed specifically for middle college students preparing to graduate high school. Structured as a “0 period” class due to their dual enrollment schedules, students complete required course work online and meet with the teacher weekly. This course offers college class support provided by the AVID elective teacher, focused on the high school–college transition and peer mentorship/mediation training. In addition to AVID expectations, this course also serves the middle college design principle of providing “comprehensive student support”– specifically a seminar course offered to students enrolled in college classes where these same students serve as role models, mentors, and tutors to their high school peers. |
