Elementary Science Courses (Grades TK–6)

Required	The state science test in grade 5 assesses students' understanding of the standards covered in grades K-5. Thus it is imperative that students in all grades participate in physical, earth and space, and life sciences through the crosscutting concepts and science and engineering practices of the next generation science standards. Students are expected to receive 180 minutes of science instruction (including investigation and experimentation) per week in grades TK–5.							Grade 6 elementary curriculum should follow the recommendations for grade 6 middle school.
