Course Description:
 The purpose of the course is to ensure students have an understanding of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community’s experiences, perspectives, and contributions. After the course, students will increase their awareness of issues of social justice, social responsibility, and social change. They will critically examine issues of race and other systems of difference that shape both individual and group interactions, identity, and culture. This course is designed to integrate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills with the coursework. Themes include immigration, representation in media & pop culture, and solidarity & allyship.
