Military Science Graduation Requirements

The type of credit JROTC courses earn depends on the instructor's teaching credential and the number of the course in which the student is enrolled.

The versions of the courses that have the word 'core' in their titles earn credit that may be used to fulfill the Physical Education high school graduation requirement.

The versions of the courses that have the word 'elective' in their titles earn Elective credit and may be counted toward the 44 total credits needed to graduate, but may not be used to meet the Physical Education high school graduation requirement.

Counselors, instructors, students, and parents should all be aware of the two credit types, Physical Education and Elective, and make sure students are enrolled in the course that will result in students earning the type of credit required and expected.
