Course Description:
 In this course, students will create, perform, respond, and connect to music at the developmentally appropriate level according to state and national standards. Students explore music through singing, playing, and moving to basic music concepts and contrasts such as steady beat, fast and slow, high and low, and loud and quiet/soft. In order to foster connections between music and culture, students experience creative movement and musical activities with culturally diverse music. Students also improvise and document their own musical ideas through iconic notation, demonstrate awareness of expressive qualities in music, state their opinions about a piece of music, and develop performance decorum through classroom performances and sharing.
