By the end of grade 2, students understand the motion of objects can be observed and measured; plants and animals have predictable life cycles; and Earth is made of materials that have distinct properties and provide resources for human activities. They observe, diagram, and record data using magnifiers and metric measurement tools. They compare and sort common objects by two attributes (e.g., color, shape, texture, size, or weight), identify patterns, and make predictions. They record data using bar graphs with appropriately labeled axes and follow oral instructions for a scientific investigation. |
