Course Description:
 This is a fourth year level physical education course for students who wish to continue to increase their knowledge of surf, advanced adventure/outdoor activities, advanced aerobics, and advanced individual and dual activities, using the Physical Education Model Content Standards for California public schools. Students will demonstrate knowledge and competency in motor skills, movement patterns and strategies needed to perform a variety of physical activities with an emphasis in surf. Additionally, students will achieve a higher level of physical fitness for surf, health and performance while demonstrating knowledge of fitness concepts, principles and strategies. Focus is towards surf related topics, but other connections include non-surf related fields of sports and recreational activities to meet the objectives of general fitness and health. Finally, students will demonstrate knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles and strategies as they apply to learning and performance of surf and other physical activities.
