Class time is split 50-50 between academic investigation and studio work, and students are required to document both portions in an investigation workbook that ties the two together. Students should be able to demonstrate how their critical investigation and exploration of art concepts is related to and/or used to inform their studio work. Students will produce an extensive body of work over the two years of the course, and have a minimum of eight fully finished pieces to present.

This course satisfies the Group 6 (Arts) requirement for the International Baccalaureate diploma.
