The course increases students’ understanding of how individuals and groups use their available resources to satisfy basic needs and wants. AP Microeconomics gives students a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to the functions of individual decision makers within the larger economic system.

The course follows the standard syllabi of Advanced Placement Microeconomics as specified by the College Board; they prepare students to satisfactorily complete the Advanced Placement Examination in Microeconomics and thus the opportunity to earn college credit.
