Course Description:
 This course is designed for the rigorous study of U.S. history and geography. The content includes a study of American history from the late nineteenth century to the present, with major emphasis on the development of American ideals and institutions. Students examine important issues and historical forces that have shaped the nation, including race, gender, politics, economics, foreign policy, culture, and the environment. Original documentary sources are used to supplement the text and enrich the studentís experience. Research techniques are taught. All students must pass an end-of-course examination.
