| Course Description: |
| | In this course students acquire a detailed understanding
of the chemical processes within living systems using
scientific inquiry and analysis. Students understand how
the concepts of chemistry act on a molecular level to
drive all life activities. Laboratory investigations allow
students to ask questions, plan and carry out
investigations, analyze and interpret data, form
arguments from evidence and discuss scientific
concepts. The main content areas of focus are
fundamentals of chemistry in aqueous solutions,
introduction to organic chemistry, enzymes, nucleic
acids, bio signaling, and biochemical processes. |
