Course Description:
 This course reviews the nation’s beginnings and key elements of American history through reconstruction. Students trace the industrial expansion of the Progressive Era using ASL for instruction. They analyze factors that shaped the course of American history in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that led to this nation’s rise as a world power. Students study personalities and events of the Gilded Age, the Jazz Age, Great Depression, and Cold War era. They examine America’s involvement in both World Wars and the recent conflicts in the Middle East. Students trace the social struggles that led to women’s suffrage, civil rights, and voting legislation. They evaluate domestic policy issues and social problems within contemporary American society.
