| Course Description: |
| | Global Literature is centered around the Common Core
ELA Standards in tandem with the California ELD
Standards. In this course,
students will challenge, question, justify, build, and
analyze the human experience through varied
perspectives and voices. Students will
better understand their own identity, voice, and world by
exploring the ways in which texts can help them
understand human nature,
relationships, and themselves. Students will be reading
works of various authors representing a diversity of
world cultures and experiences
and be exposed to literary fiction (short stories, poetry,
drama, and novels) and nonfiction texts (e.g., news
articles, autobiographies).
Students will receive designated ELD instruction as part
of the course to build their English language proficiency. |
