Course Description: | |
Spanish 1-2 is intended to give students some facility in the four communication skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension. Emphasis is placed on communicating effectively in the target language, making connections, comparing the target language with the English language, examining communities, and understanding the cultures of the target language-speaking countries/regions. The course reflects the State of California World Languages Standards and the State of California World Languages Framework. It is recommended that fluent or nearly fluent students enroll in a Spanish for Spanish Speakers course or a higher-level Spanish course. By the end of the first year of instruction, it is intended to develop learners at a novice low/mid language proficiency. | |
