 This is a pilot course for Hoover High School. Other schools may not offer this course without prior approval from the Interdistrict Curriculum Committee.

Course Description:
 Choir 9,10 is the fifth course in the choral course sequence, an extension of the sequence for schools on a 4x4 schedule (in which students complete a year-long course in one semester). In Choir 9,10, students will continue to develop their vocal technique and musicianship. They will analyze texture, modulations, cadences, and form, and will arrange and harmonize melodies using standard notation. In a unit on music careers, students will select and research a music career that interests them. New connections will be made between each student and the ensemble through basic conducting, improvisation in the ensemble setting, music selection, rehearsal, performance, and performance critique.
