This course prepares young adult students with disabilities to access education and training opportunities to help them achieve their educational goals. As part of their community-based instruction, students participate in hands-on activities relevant to their individualized learning needs and transition goals. Using self-assessment and reflection, students create a personalized plan outlining their goals for education, career, and/or personal enrichment. Students research education and training options related to their goals. Students are guided through enrolling in an adult education class or training and creating a schedule which includes travel, attendance, and any required preparation or homework. Students access support services in education, training, and personal enrichment. Students participate in a certification program related to their educational/career objectives. This course provides protected time for small group designated English Language Development (dELD) instruction for English learners at all proficiency levels. | |
