Course Description: | |
Animal Science is a project-based course designed to prepare students for postsecondary education and/or employment in the Animal Science industry. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts and principles that govern animal nutrition, growth, health, reproduction, and genetics, as well as practical commercial applications, such as ration formulation, disease prevention, and artificial insemination.The appropriate use of technology and industry-standard equipment is an integral part of this course. Competencies in this course are aligned with the California Science Framework, the Common Core State Standards, and the California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards. | |
