| Course Description: | |
| This foundational high school course allows students with diverse abilities and artistic experience to implement a comprehensive understanding of elements of art and principles of design through an exploration of various mediums including 2D design, 3D design, or mixed media techniques. Students will engage in hands-on, project-based lessons, apply their knowledge of design development, creation of handmade or other mixed media processes to both functional and artistic objects. Students will gain a depth of knowledge of visual literacy through an analysis of various artistic styles from traditional to contemporary influences. They will acquire skills including creative problem-solving, technical proficiency, and the ability to articulate conceptual ideas through critical analysis. | |
