| Course Description: |
| | This is the first in a series of four Coast Guard JROTC courses. It may be taken in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12. Students will be evaluated in each of the following subject areas:
- Introduction to the NJROTC course
- Leadership/Followership
- Citizenship
- Foundations of our government
- Maritime ships
- Maritime Aviation
- Coast Guard JROTC uniform program
- Coast Guard rates/ranks; U.S. Navy rates/ranks
- Military customs, courtesies, etiquette, and ceremonies
- Introduction to military drill
- Health education
- Physical fitness and exercise
- First aid
- Orienteering
- Chain of command
- Orders to the sentry
