Course Description: | |
This course will provide students with another semester (quarter) of study in the history of Asian Americans and its relevance to contemporary issues. The course will examine the role Asian/Asian American experiences in the United States played in the formation of Asian American identity. Additional themes and societal issues include racial stereotyping, assimilation, and the model minority, as well as the continuing legacies of racism as they pertain to Asian Americans. Students will engage in critical thinking and research skills. This course is designed to build upon the study of topics and concepts from the AAPI Studies course. | |
