Course Description:
	This single period course addresses the same standards as Grade 5 elementary course but is offered in a middle school setting. The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) have been integrated into the grade 5 curriculum. The CCSS focus on reading literature, reading for information, writing, language, speaking and listening, and foundational skills. Please refer to the California Department of Education�s 2014 English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework.
