Exploring Careers 6th–8th (8299)

 Course duration:
 One semester. May be taught as a six-week (8299X), nine-week (8299Q), or 12-week (8299Z) portion of an 18-week wheel course. May be repeated for credit.
Course Description:
 Exploring Careers is a middle-school wheel course comprising 15 modules that mirror the state’s 15 industry sectors. Each module is available in a six-, nine-, or 12-week format to accommodate individual schools’ needs. Sites determine which modules to teach based on the industry sectors and career pathways that are in place at their feeder high schools. Students who take this course will know their high-school CTE options and will be able to use that knowledge to inform their course decisions when they develop their eighth-grade transition plan.
