Course Description:
 3-D Design and Printing introduces students to the 3-D modeling program SketchUp 8, how objects are designed in three dimensions, 3-D printing and how it works, the limitations and mathematics of 3-D printing, and practical 3-D design. In addition, students will learn how to read blueprints to replicate objects from two-dimensional drawings, design, render, and print standard versions of three-dimensional objects, and create their own unique three-dimensional objects to print for themselves. They will save their work to an on-line portfolio to share with other students. Students will use two 3-D printers in the classroom and their netbooks.
