Course Description: | |
This honors course is designed to give students an opportunity to acquire advanced laboratory research techniques and skills. Students will develop the laboratory skills, critical thinking, and communication skills currently used in the biotechnology industry. Through extensive reading, laboratory work, industry field trips, job shadows, and other workplace experiences, including site-based internships, students will evaluate career opportunities in the field of biotechnology. For the final project students will apply the knowledge obtained during their internship to identify a weakness in the current SOPs for their internship group. They will then create a replacement SOP that addresses and improves upon the identified issue. | |
