Nondiscrimination

In accordance with Title VI, Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IX, Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Title II, Education Amendments of 1974; Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; and the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the San Diego Unified School District is committed to equal opportunity for all individuals in education. District programs and activities must be free from discrimination based on sex, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, physical or mental disability, or any other unlawful consideration. The district promotes programs that ensure that discriminatory practices are eliminated in all district activities.

Any student who engages in discrimination of another student or anyone from the district may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion. Any employee who permits or engages in discrimination may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
