Course Description: | |
Honors Physiology is designed for students who wish to investigate the structure and function of the human body through the study of homeostatic conditions. The course includes various dissections, such as a cat and other mammalian specimens. Emphasis focuses on statistics in physiology, buffer systems (acid-based chemistry), the integumentary system, muscular-skeletal movement, forensic anthropology, neurophysiology, cardio-fitness, human nutrition, and awareness of sexually transmitted diseases. The course is aligned to NGSS, integrating Disciplinary Core Ideas from Life Science, Crosscutting Concepts and Science and Engineering Practices.Safety protocol is emphasized. | |
