Course Description:
 This is a second year level physical education course for students who wish to increase their knowledge of dance using the Physical Education Model Content Standards for California public schools. Students will demonstrate knowledge and competency in motor skills, movement patterns and strategies needed to perform a variety of physical activities with an emphasis in dance. Additionally, students will achieve a level of physical fitness for health and performance while demonstrating knowledge of fitness concepts, principles and strategies. The above aforementioned will be focused towards dance related topics, but will make connections and included non-dance related fields of sports and recreational activities to meet the objectives of general fitness and health. Finally, students will demonstrate knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles and strategies as they apply to learning and performance of physical activities.
