Course Description: | |
This two-semester course forms the second half of a two-year course in written and oral language with literature as its focus. It prepares students to take the IB Higher Level (HL) Language A: Literature exam.
The focus of the second year of study is on different literary genres and authors. Students engage in detailed analyses of the content and literary techniques of specific genres and respond appropriately to texts using the vocabulary of literary criticism. They are increasing able to form independent literary judgments as they gain experience through ongoing oral and written arguments. | |
